Something I find quite interesting is how we, as people, can normalize any situation. You may find yourself living in a metropolis high-rise, maybe newlyweds moving into the suburbs, or traveling the world not knowing where you'll end up next. The wave of novelty and excitement will slowly fade and shift into routine, a new normal, and eventually "what's next". The world may be your ocean, but we all live in the little fishbowl in our heads. It's hard to tell if it's me that keeps changing or the fish around me. Friends, relationships, opportunities, and experiences can all blend into a simple "Fine" when asked how your day is. The goggles you wear during the day can keep you focused on what's in front of you, but don't shy away from getting a little water in your eyes. Stay aware of all that surrounds you. Your new normal is your younger self's dream.
